Corunna Public Schools
December 2021 Employee of the Month
Amanda Sanburn has been named December Employee of the Month. She has worked for the district since February 2019. She was honored during the December 13 Board of Education meeting held at Corunna High School. Amanda is an office manager at Corunna Middle School. “I am deeply honored to receive this month’s Employee of the Month. I am blessed to work with such an amazing team; especially Jennifer Andrejack and Ingrid Dettman. Jennifer is very patient and accommodating. She quickly adapts to new circumstances as they arise, while keeping a smile on her face. Ingrid’s strong work ethic is contagious. She’s a great leader and everyone benefits from her dedication and organizational skills. There are many other coworkers that help make my job easier and the office run efficiently. I wish I could share this award with them all! It really is wonderful working for the middle school. We have a family work environment; the staff is always there for each other as well as the students. It truly is Great to Be Gold,” said Amanda.

Fellow Cavaliers,
This morning we went into secure mode regarding a potential threat made toward the High School on social media around 8:30 a.m. We became aware of the post when a CHS student reached out to the HS administration. Secure mode means we lock and close each classroom door, escort students to and from the restroom during the class period, and continue instruction.
After the investigation by police (local and State Police) and district administration, which included a search by the State Police canine unit, we were given the all-clear around 10:15 a.m. We are now resuming our school day as normal.
Our staff and students handled today exactly as they have been trained.
As a reminder, we ask everyone to continue to report all suspicious or threatening activity, including social media posts, to law enforcement and/or school officials immediately. It takes all of us in our Cavalier family to remain vigilant and protect our children. If you or your child should ever hear any potential threats please do not hesitate to contact a school official or Ok2Say anonymously in the following ways:
Call 8-555-OK2SAY
Text 652729 (OK2SAY)
Email OK2SAY@mi.gov
Respectfully,
Superintendent John Fattal
