🆀 Why not just renovate Nellie Reed and keep our current configuration?
🅰 When the citizens committee was doing their homework, they found it would be way more expensive (roughly $1.5 million more) to renovate Nellie Reed and bring it up to code than it would be to simply add additional classrooms on at Elsa Meyer. Our community also spoke about the necessity to eliminate transitions for our younger Cavaliers based on last winter’s community input sessions. Here is a link to the presentation that was shared more than 15 times in 2019-2020 Community Input Presentation 2020 and here’s a link to the questions/feedback that was collected: You can find information/feedback from those conversations here: Presentation Feedback.

🆀 Where will the classrooms go at Elsa Meyer? When will construction begin?
🅰 Although a final decision cannot be made until soil borings, architectural engineers determine the best sites, etc., initial thoughts are to place the rooms adjacent to the current first-grade wing where the staff parking lot currently is. There is money in the bond proposal to add additional parking for staff. Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2022 and would be completed in time for the 2022-2023 school year.
