Bond Corunna Public Schools Please remember to vote May 4! 🆀 What are the benefits of artificial turf? 🅰 Here is a bulleted list of rationale: Increased access for our students -HS Band (practice and performances) -MS Band (practices) -Youth soccer (practices and tournaments) -Youth football (practices and games) -Spring sports (all) during “warm but wet” weather -Phys ed (MS, HS) -LP students -Inclement weather no longer inhibits competitions -Saves on water and maintenance costs Average cost of maintenance per year on a grass field ≅$30,000 (Average cost of maintenance per year on a turf field ≅$5,000) Roughly 6-7 “man hours” a week 150 gallons of gas a year Use of 15-25 gallons of paint each week during the season Fertilizer and seed (pesticide free) Wear & tear and repair on machines (Mowers, Paint machine) -Better use of personnel Hours used on field can be used elsewhere in district for maintenance and repair -New/increased revenue streams - can be used 24/7/365 Opens up possibility for more revenue ($15,ooo-$18,000 annually) Youth (football, soccer) contests Track meets MITCA state meet Regionals
