Emily Holzhausen-McCarrick has been named February 2025 Employee of the Month. Emily is a bus driver with the transportation department. She was hired October 2013. ”I love working for the district I grew up in. So many families have so much history here, and I don’t think there is any other place like it,” said Emily.
Emily said, “One thing that may surprise you about me is that I love to read. On average, I read four books a week. Sally Labadie really instilled a love of reading and was my favorite teacher,” said Emily.
Emily said, “My favorite best day was the day my son was born. Cliché, but true.”
“I have three things on my bucket list, travel, attend a Broadway show, and skydive,” said Emily.
Emily said, “One memory I will always have is teaching my elementary kids The Song That Doesn’t End, and having them sign it to me on random days.”
“One thing that I believe sets Corunna apart from other districts is that so many teachers and other school employees actually went to our district and came back to the district to work, said Emily.
Emily said, “The person who most positively influenced me was my mom. My mom instilled in me so much love. I wouldn’t be me without her.”
In her spare time, Emily enjoys playing with her dogs, hiking and biking with her family, camping, reading, and crocheting.
Emily’s family includes her husband, Greg, and son, Donovan (11th grade).
